Built by people who know what the friction feels like
CalmFriction began with a simple observation: young adults in hard seasons rarely need a lecture. They need someone to sit with them, feed them if they're hungry, and remind them they're not the only one.
Why "CalmFriction"?
Friction is what life feels like when everything grinds — a job that won't come, a loss that won't lift, faith that feels far away. Most people are told to escape the friction. We believe something different: that friction is where calm is forged. Pressed into honest conversation, prayer, and community, hard seasons become the very place peace takes root.
The wave in our logo is the calm. The star is the spark that friction makes. We hold both — because both are true of every life we walk with.
Our values
- Scripture first Our counseling is anchored in the Bible — honest about pain, generous with hope.
- Dignity always No one is a "case." Every person is met as a whole human with a name and a story.
- Practical love A food pack, a fare top-up, a listening ear — love here has hands.
- Mutual strength The people we serve become the people who serve. Everyone has something to give.
- Open doors You don't have to have it together to come. Come as you are.
- Faithful stewardship Every shilling and every item given is accounted for and used for the mission.
